Game freezeing up

I just downloaded spring 1944 V 1.53, and every time I view any of my units, or a command point, the game freezes up completely. My computer has a 2Ghz dual core, and so should be fine. Any suggestions?

That’s probably not enough poke for Spring I’m afraid. You can try updating your graphics drivers, but probably you won’t be able to play Spring with that hardware.

Hmm, pity 'cause it plays NOTA fine, and stuff like AOE 3 and CFS 3 fine. Ah well I’ll keep on with Close combat 2 then. No chance of low poly models then?

It’s not because your card doesn’t support high poly models (it probably does support them just fine), it’s because the card doesn’t like our shaders (which are used on flags among other things, hence the freeze). NOTA and some other Spring games don’t use them so those run fine.

Spring is not very laptop friendly :frowning:

Ah, if that is the case, then turn off ‘Enable LuaShaders support’ in your springsettings program and you might be in luck. :slight_smile:

done, slight improvement but still not playable. Did experiment and found that one unit was enough to reduce the game to a lag fest
