Was it reduced? The range displayed when you mouse over them while holding shift is now considerably shorter than what the length of the field of fire lines indicate. I seem to remember them having longer range. This is with rev 1093.
Just checked the weapon files and everything appears to be fine. It’s the field of fire lines of the MG42 that are longer than they should be. If you deploy an MG42 and mouse over it while holding shift then you’ll see that the field of fire lines extend past the red max range circle.
This is also happening with the Russian light field artillery and anti-tank guns. Wasn’t the field of fire widget obtaining the weapons’ ranges from the .tdf files?
It should be… maybe unitDef.maxWeaponRange doesn’t do what I thought?
